Fantasy Galaxy Volume 1 Chapter 2 Part 3

With our air, food, and water supplies secured, we resumed exploring the spaceport.

“Will this allow us to become free?”

Sario shook his head.

“We’re still not free. As long as we have the terminals on the backs of our necks, we’ll remain lowclass.”

“Can’t we remove them?”

“Apparently they’ll explode if you try to carelessly remove them.”

I shuddered at the thought.

“That’s terrible…we have to find some way to remove them.”

According to Sario, in technologically advanced civilized nations they can remove them. It seems we need to escape the Gorgona system and go to a civilized nation to have the training terminals removed.

“We have to find a way out of the Gorgona system somehow and get these training terminals removed.”

“I wholeheartedly agree.”

“But we can’t travel to other star systems with that small spacecraft. What should we do?”

“The small spacecraft alone won’t be enough. I think we have no choice but to find another way.”

We thoroughly searched inside the spaceport and discovered another repair hangar containing a partially disassembled spacecraft cruiser lying inside.

“We may be in luck.”

Suddenly, Sario spoke up. I didn’t understand what he meant, but I assumed it had something to do with this space cruiser. It seemed that this ship was once an elegant spacecraft, about 50 meters in length. We boarded the partially dismantled vessel, searching for anything that might still be usable. That’s when we discovered the Luon Drive. The Luon Drive is a propulsion system used for traveling through trans-spacetime space—a higher-dimensional space where faster-than-light travel is possible. However, the Luon Drive alone isn’t enough to achieve superluminal travel. A separate device is required to transfer into or shift through trans-spacetime space. That device is called a Trans-Spacetime Jump Field Generator. Unfortunately, the space cruiser didn’t have one.

“Let’s transport what we found to the small spacecraft.”

We moved the Luon drive to the small spacecraft and had the maintenance robots service it to get it operational. We installed the serviced Luon drive in the engine room and modified it so it could be controlled from the cockpit. If just the two of us tried, it would have been impossible, but with the numerous maintenance robots there it was completed quickly.

Around that time, we noticed there were no more Goblins around the spaceport. Most of the Goblin ships had headed to the 4th planet, which had become a battlefield against the Orc forces. We searched everywhere for a Spacetime Jump Field Generator but couldn’t find one, with only a single unexplored area remaining – a heavily locked room that would require forcibly breaking down the door to enter.

“I wonder why this room alone is so heavily locked down?”

“It must mean something very important is stored inside.”

“Something important…like what?”

“Maybe new weapons or treasure.”

We discussed the possibility of opening the door, and we concluded that we had no choice but to destroy it. Since the goblins had explosives, we would use those. Rigging the explosives to the special alloy door and retreating a safe distance. Then pressing the detonation switch. An explosion occurred that shook the entire space port, sending shattered debris flying through the zero gravity environment. After it settled, we approached the door. The points fixing the door in place had been destroyed, and the special alloy door had fallen into the hallway. It seemed the section securing the door could not withstand the blast.

“Alright, let’s enter the room.”

“Yeah, let’s check out what’s in there.”

We entered through the destroyed entryway into a corridor with debris floating about. Proceeding down the corridor, we emerged into a somewhat larger room. Inside was a capsule about 3 meters long with an egg-like shape. Next to the bluish-silver glowing capsule was a fusion reactor, seemingly providing it energy. Just the fusion reactor alone still operating was puzzling, but behind it was a large fuel tank that appeared to be continually supplying fuel. Likely some maintenance robots were still functioning. The Anubis-developed fusion reactor was providing immense energy to the capsule. But what was the capsule using that energy for? That was the mystery.

Then, a voice sounded in my head.

[Subordinate of goblins. Heed my wish.]

Thinking I was not a goblin, I looked around for the voice’s source, but no one was there.

“Could it be coming from inside the capsule?”

[Obey my voice.]

Told that, I could not disobey. I stumbled towards the capsule and performed complex operations on the control panel built into its surface.

“Zen, what are you doing?”

Hearing that voice, I came to my senses.

“Huh, what?”

Cracks spread across the capsule’s surface. The floor shook with a dull rumbling. Then a large rupture appeared, rapidly growing wider.

“Wh-what’s happening?”

A person emerged from the capsule. A naked woman. Her beauty was so mystical, and looking closer, only her elongated ears differed from a human’s – reminiscent of an elf from fantasy.

I was utterly confused witnessing this impossibility. It was a vacuum inside with no air. A naked human ejected into that environment should die instantly, yet she appeared unfazed. Clearly not an ordinary person, exuding an inhuman presence. Sario trembled slightly.

After a moment, Sario spoke up.

“Are you one of the Celestial tribe?”

[Yes. I am Zolfienne of the Rikagel Celestials.]

Seeing one of the Celestials, revered as gods in the Milky Way, I too felt dread. For I sensed her body contained immense, dreadful energy. In an instant, feeling an ominous chill, the next moment Zolfienne the Celestial’s nude form was enveloped in an elegant space suit.

[I thank the two of you who freed me from the Anubis seal. So, I shall bestow three gifts each upon you. Decide what you would like.]

Suddenly offered gifts, I could not fathom what to choose when put on the spot. Moreover, not knowing what Zolfienne possessed or could provide. Then the thought of a training port flitted across my mind, but that was an issue solvable by visiting a sufficiently advanced civilization, so I dismissed it. After some contemplation, unable to decide, I left it to her.

“please grant me the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to live in space, from now on.”

Zolfienne gave a slight, pale smile.

【Very well. I shall choose and bestow them upon you.】

“I too, the same as Zen.”

Sario said, and Zolfienne nodded. Then, with eyes that seemed to see through me and Sario completely, she told us:

【Your knowledge is too low, so first I shall grant you [General Common Sense]. Next, I shall bestow upon Sario the [Control Brain Technology] and [Physical Drive Engine Technology].】

“Thank you very much.”

Sario bowed his head and expressed gratitude. Zolfienne turned her eyes towards me.

【Hmm, interesting. It seems Zen has Bosol sensory abilities. I shall grant you knowledge and skills regarding the [Higher Dimensional Access Method] and [Celestial Quake Drive Engineering].】

“Thank you very much.”

Though I didn’t understand what I had received, I expressed my gratitude. Then, when instructed to close my eyes, I did so and lost consciousness.

【First, to use the [Higher Dimensional Access Method], let us form a [Spiritual Core], no, a [Spiritual Cloud].】

The spiritual core and spiritual cloud refer to re-forming the vague existence of a soul into a higher dimensional being, becoming the core of a spiritual civilization. The Rikagel celestial tribes use spiritual cores, but judging that human souls are undeveloped, making it impossible to form a spiritual core directly, Zolfienne formed a functionally downgraded spiritual cloud instead. I awoke after the spiritual cloud had formed and the necessary information had been etched into the spiritual cloud, which is my soul. My spiritual cloud was sadly tiny, apparently about the size of a soybean. Incidentally, since Zolfienne didn’t know soybeans, she showed the size by spacing her two fingers apart.

【You two should return to the small spacecraft. I shall ensure what I have bestowed can be used at that time. Farewell, then.】

Zolfienne vanished, though I couldn’t tell by what method she used to disappear in an instant.

“Is this a dream?”

“No, it’s not. Let’s return to the small spacecraft.”

Feeling as though I had been tricked by a fox, we returned to the small spacecraft. Opening the outer airlock hatch and entering, once the air was replenished, the inner hatch automatically opened, so we headed for the cockpit. Midway, we removed our spacesuits and sat in the cockpit seats, at which point a vast amount of knowledge flowed into my head. Unable to withstand that burden, I lost consciousness.

Some time later,
