Unwanted Galactic Uprising Volume 2 Chapter 19

Gian’s Jealousy of Nao

In the reception room of the dock, Gian was feeling conflicted as he listened to Kasumi talk enthusiastically about Nao.

He was also surprised to see how close Nao seemed to be with the company president.

Gian was aware that he was feeling anxious.

He couldn’t understand how Nao, who had failed to get into university and left this planet, had become the captain of a royal flagship

He is amazed at how much of a difference it makes in less than a year since entering society. Along with his surprise, feelings of envy and jealousy were welling up inside him.

Gian was still a student.

Even after graduation, he wouldn’t be immediately entrusted with a business, nor could he start one on his own.

He felt the gap between him and Nao widening even further.

Why was Nao so trusted and respected by his subordinates?

Gian couldn’t understand how Nao was capable of such things.

Wasn’t Nao supposed to be the shy type?

Gian was simply amazed at these feelings arising within him.

He was making some serious misunderstandings on several points, but no one could hear the voice in his heart.

If Nao had heard these inner thoughts, he would have corrected them immediately.

First, his subordinates didn’t really respect Nao.

After all, they had nearly strangled him.

They just had a high opinion of him because, unlike ordinary superiors, he listened well and seemed to understand them. But no one told Gian this, so he was really starting to feel anxious.

Last month, Gian had been allowed to enter a duke’s party as an attendant. Thanks to Nao, he had the opportunity to meet Her Highness.

Whether this expression is appropriate or not, let’s set that aside.

The point is, in aristocratic society where connections are everything, just being able to talk to Her Highness gives you a certain amount of power.

The same was true for Gian. The president of Casbell Arsenal was probably watching from afar as he was at the scene.

Afterwards, it became a topic of conversation within the company.

People eagerly asked how he had managed to talk so familiarly with Her Highness.

Gian honestly told them each time that Nao, his childhood friend, was the captain of Her Highness’s flagship, and that Her Highness had greeted him when he came to call for Nao.

Mark’s father, Managing Director Corona, had also heard this story.

Just when he got information that Her Highness had come to Nihonium again, he took Gian to his friend’s dock to talk to the captain of Her Highness’s flagship.

He knew that the ship Her Highness was currently using had been modified at that dock, but normally, even a dock president wouldn’t be acquainted with the captain of a flagship.

Royal flagships in this country are only the flagships of the first and second fleets, and their captains are at least rear admirals, much higher-ranking than regular captains or commodores.

It’s unusual for such a person to be acquainted with the president of a salvage yard.

Nao and his team usually dealt with clerical staff like Chief Maki.

Managing Director Corona had brought Gian to the dock, intending to use this tenuous connection to leave a message for the captain through a clerk or crew member.

He had no idea that Nao and the dock president were so close.

So this time, Gian was treated as completely unnecessary.

Of course, Gian himself realized this treatment and felt quite frustrated.

After finishing his work at the internship, Gian met with his lovers.

This time, feeling down, he wanted to be comforted rather than just blow off steam.

He was talking with his lovers while drinking.

“What’s wrong, Gian?”

“You seem different today.”

“Did something happen at work?”

His lovers worried and asked him.

“Today, I went with the managing director to meet Nao,”

Waan, a model who didn’t know about Nao, seemed impressed that Gian was working alongside a managing director of a large company.

“Oh, you went to work with the managing director of Casbell Arsenal? That’s amazing!”

However, the lovers who knew Nao directly were more than a little surprised.

“Eh? Nao was Tetsurine’s friend?”

“Senior, that’s the person Tetsurine rejected so harshly that time. I remember well because he ran away crying.”

The two who were Nao’s senior and junior seemed genuinely surprised at Gian’s unexpected reunion with Nao, but Tetsurine herself was surprised about something else.

How could Nao, who she heard had become a soldier, meet directly with the managing director of a large company?

She was sensitive to such connections as she was desperately trying to climb the social ladder himself.

“Eh, wasn’t Nao in the military?”

“Ah, I guess I hadn’t told everyone. Last month, I met Her Highness the Third Princess at a duke’s party.”

“Oh, I think I heard about that. Didn’t you say Her Highness spoke to you?”

“Yes, but I didn’t explain why someone like me, who shouldn’t have been qualified to attend the party, was spoken to by Her Highness. I had met Nao again at that time.”

“Ehhh? Why was Nao, who became a soldier, participating in a duke’s party?”

The women who knew Nao directly were surprised at this.

“Ah, I was surprised too. The reason I was spoken to by Her Highness was because she came to call for Nao. I was just addressed as an afterthought.”

The women were completely stunned.

Tetsurine barely managed to ask:

“Why was Her Highness looking for Nao? Did you hear the reason, Gian?”

“Ah, that’s why I went with the managing director today, to introduce Nao. He’s currently on secondment to the royal palace. According to Her Highness’s explanation at that time, a new organization called the Interstelllar Criminal Police Organization Preparatory Office has been established, and Nao is the captain of Her Highness’s flagship in that organization. He had medals and the rank insignia of a lieutenant in the military on his chest. He’s a commissioned officer, a lieutenant in the military. While I’m still a student, how on earth did he get that far?”

“But you knew Nao had become important last month, right? What happened today?”

“Ah, today I went with the managing director to a subsidiary salvage company, and the president there was friends with the managing director. The plan was to use the president’s connections to contact Her Highness’s flagship and arrange a meeting between Nao and the managing director, but Nao came directly to the dock. Moreover, he seemed quite close with the president there, so I wasn’t needed. Nao is at least an important person at Casbell Arsenal. But I…”

“Gian, you haven’t even reached the starting line yet. There’s no need to rush, is there?”

“Yes, I think so too, but he’s amazing. Today, I talked with Nao’s subordinates who were with him, and they really seemed to respect him. Nao has completely won over his subordinates. When did he acquire such skills?”

“Doesn’t rank matter in the military?”

“I’ve been trained since childhood to judge people. So I can somewhat tell. Nao’s subordinates don’t seem to be following him just because of his rank or position. They seem completely devoted to him. That was shocking to me. He’s the same age as me. And yet…”

Tetsurine, who had listened to Gian’s story, suddenly felt an emotion she had never experienced before.

Something like impatience or jealousy.

She was surprised that Nao, who was supposed to have no future after failing to get into university, was now more successful than Gian, who was on the elite track.

That day, while comforting Gian, Tetsurine was also trying to calm her own feelings.

Gian was quite depressed that day due to his grand misunderstanding.

The day passed as he was comforted by his beautiful lovers.

If Nao knew about this, he would have said, “What are you misunderstanding to feel so good about? May the popular explode spectacularly!”

People can only judge based on what they see, so sometimes they make grand misunderstandings.

This case is exactly that.

Nao’s basic attitude hasn’t changed at all since he attempted suicide.

Even joining the military was for the purpose of dying in the line of duty, and he has no interest or desire for promotion.

That’s why such misunderstandings arise.

If it’s just a temporary job until dying in the line of duty, it’s easier to live by not making waves as much as possible.

While it would be troublesome to be thrown out of the military for grossly violating rules, otherwise, he’s just trying to make things easy for everyone as much as his discretion allows.

This probably appeared to his subordinates as a reasonable superior who entrusts them with more and more discretion.

Moreover, he takes resolute command in times of crisis.

Could you come up with a strategy to charge at the enemy with a newly captured ship?

And to do so while staying behind to the last and taking care to keep his subordinates alive?

Most people would become devoted after experiencing such things.

No one would ever imagine

that it all started from his chuunibyou syndrome.

In Nao’s case, major misunderstandings are rampant everywhere, creating situations like today.

What kind of reactions would there be if Nao’s true nature became known to those around him?

In reality, it’s impossible because no one correctly understands Nao, but if it were to happen, it would certainly be interesting.

  1. Gian was quite depressed that day due to her grand misunderstanding -> Gian was quite depressed that day due to his grand misunderstanding

    Thanks for the treat.

  2. The best revenge is one where they saw your success while their ass barely change after years. It’s not always about the violence or death , simply their own despair realizing how far you have gone since they laughed at you and the tiny bit of progress they had made since you both last met. Oh such peak
