I Am God’s Proxy Volume 1 Chapter 6 part 3

When the princess took out the notebook, it looked very familiar. The reason was,

[–It looked just like the notebook that had “The Truth of the World (lol)” written in it that Papin had.]

Whoa, whoa, whoa!? Is she the owner of that notebook!? Did Papin give it to her!?

The notebook Papin had was labeled “The Seven Sages Who Know the True God, Seven Crowns,” like the author’s name. Her notebook had the same label.

This is bad, don’t panic. Take a deep breath.

“…Ah, no. I, I, I don’t know it.”

“…You’ve seen it before, haven’t you?”

“No, I haven’t.”

“Hmm, I can tell when people are lying, you know.”

“Eh!?”

“Just kidding. I can’t tell. But your reaction gave it away. You’ve seen this before, haven’t you?”

“…No, I haven’t.”

“…Zero-kun, you’re pretty easy to read. Do you have time later?”

“No, I don’t.”

“How about after school?”

“I have a part-time job.”

“Then tonight?”

“I’m booked for the next month. Ask me again next month.”

“You sound like you’re turning down a date. Hey? You really do have time, don’t you? Come on, I’m royalty, you know☆?”

With sparkling eyes, she wields national authority as her shield. I couldn’t help but think, This is why our country’s progress is so slow—people like her are in power.

However, as a mere noble and an academy dropout, I had no right to refuse. After school, I was summoned by the princess.

“That guy, the one with the black emblem.”

“The one with zero magical power, right?”

“The student council president’s younger brother… and the older brother who’s the top student. He’s so lifeless.”

“His eyes are dead. Why is he with the princess?”

What an awful way to get attention… Ah, little sister! Help me, I’m your brother!!

“… (turns away)”

But my little sister just ignored me. Hey, you’ve got some nerve to turn a blind eye when your own blood is in trouble!

“Listen, Zero. I really don’t want anyone else to know about this, so let’s talk in private! Your room or mine?”

“…Isn’t it weird that I’m being forced to choose between one of our rooms?”

“Ahaha… I’m royalty.”

“Yes, ma’am. Let’s talk in my room.”

“Great! Thank you!”

This woman… She’s fully exploiting her national authority to manipulate me!!! But I can’t just resist recklessly and cause trouble for my parents.

Reluctantly, I led her to my room. Inside, Rei-nyan was curled up asleep on my bed.

“You have a cat?”

“Yeah, she’s cute.”

“Meow~”

Ah, she’s awake. Rei-nyan hops onto my lap as I sit on the bed. Seeing this, the Third Princess, Nana, reaches out.

“Can I pet her?”

“Go ahead.”

“Oh, she’s adorable. Her fur is so smooth… and her eyes are beautiful. She has such a noble aura.”

“Yeah, I guess so.”

Princess Nana sits beside me and pulls out that dark, chuunibyou notebook from earlier. She flips to a specific page.

“This was in my father’s study—the king’s study.”

“…Huh.”

“The Foolish God Arcadia, the Six Great Gods, and the truth of the world. This notebook contains something that could overturn the history of this world. You’d understand if you’ve read it, right?”

“…I haven’t read it.”

“Oh. Then I’d like you to read it now.”

“I, uh, don’t do well with text…”

“I’m royalty.”

“Ah, yes. I’ll read it.”

Reluctantly, I skim through the notebook. Some parts are torn and unreadable, but the content seems similar to my dad’s notebook.

“I see. I understand now.”

“Great. What do you think?”

“…Honestly, it’s hard to grasp. It just feels like nonsense.”

“Yeah, I thought so at first too. But the king of a country that worships the Earth God wrote this notebook, speaking ill of the Six Great Gods, and left it behind.”

“…I see.”

“This… I don’t think it’s something we can just dismiss as ramblings.”

No, I think we can totally dismiss it as ramblings.

“This notebook was supposedly written by seven students from a former magical academy. One of them was my father, the king, and five others. The last one was… Golza-Lagler. That’s your father. The authors called themselves the Seven Crowns, the wise ones who knew the true gods.”

“…”

At this point, I understood everything. My father was a chuunibyou. But he wasn’t alone. He must have formed a chuunibyou circle at the academy with other chuunibyou types, deepening their lore and causing chaos together.

“When I asked my father about this, he wouldn’t say a word.”

Well, of course. If your daughter finds your old chuunibyou notebook, your black history from your student days, you wouldn’t talk about it either. This princess is royalty, but she’s so clueless.

My father, the king, must be so embarrassed.

I’m sure the king had fun with my dad at first, but he probably grew out of his chuunibyou phase eventually. Just like me and my dad. Curry is delicious, but you wouldn’t want to eat it every day. You’d get sick of it eventually.

“I want to know the truth of this world.”

“Be my guest.”

“I want your help too. Right now, only you and I know about this notebook.”

“…I don’t think there’s any truth to it.”

“There is. My intuition is always right. Talking to you makes me feel like my life is about to change dramatically.”

“This is just some urban legend stuff. If you take conspiracy theories seriously, you’re in trouble.”

“If you help me, I’ll reward you.”

“No thanks.”

“What about money? I heard you’re pretty desperate for it. Ilza told me.”

“That sister of mine… No, I’ll pass. I don’t know if the pay would match the work. I might even end up losing out.”

“It’s an order from the royal family☆.”

“This is abuse of national authority!!”

“This is how authority is supposed to be used.”

This girl definitely won’t let me go until I agree.

The king must have a hard time with such a clueless and selfish daughter.

And it must be so embarrassing. Having your old chuunibyou notebook dug up and your daughter believing it’s some grand conspiracy about the truth of the world. It’s not just embarrassing—it’s downright pitiful.

——For just a moment, I thought about waking this girl up and pulling her out of her chuunibyou phase. In short, I felt sorry for the king.

I’ve only seen the king once before, and he was bald. It’s probably because of the stress from having a daughter like this. Poor guy. My dad has a full head of hair.

That’s only because my dad doesn’t know I’ve read his chuunibyou notebook. I’m pretending I haven’t seen it.

I have an idea why the king kept that notebook. Even if it’s black history, it’s still an important memory with his friends.

——As the night breeze blew,

(Back then, I was such an idiot…)

He probably wanted to keep it as a good memory in his heart. Everyone goes through a phase where they’re drawn to legends and hidden histories.

It’s embarrassing, but it’s still a memory you can’t just erase. That’s probably why my dad kept that notebook too.

Memories with friends that are embarrassing. This princess, pretending to have uncovered some hidden history, believing in conspiracy theories and urban legends. The king must be so troubled by this.

Poor guy. History repeats itself, huh?

Well, anyway, this won’t get us anywhere. I have zero magical power, so I’m pretty useless. She’ll probably get bored of this chuunibyou act eventually.

There’s no way gods exist. I’ve never met anyone who’s met one.

She’ll probably wake up like I did. If I just pretend to cooperate, there’ll be less friction. Plus, she won’t let this go until I agree.

“Alright, I’ll help. But I’m busy, so I can’t always be available.”

“Great! I’m counting on you!”

“…Yeah, sure. Now, please leave.”

“Huh? Do you hate me?”

“There’s nothing to like about you.”
“But I’m cute, right?”

“You’re cute,

but your personality’s a bit…”

I had this feeling that all the beautiful women in this world were weirdos. That’s why this world is… Oh, but back in Japan, in middle school, the super beautiful student council president confessed to me, followed me home, and I found out she’d taken tons of photos of me without my knowledge. She even tased me and tried to lock me up.

I managed to dislocate my wrist to escape the restraints, though.

“Um, about my personality… I’m working on it, so don’t say anything.”

She’s working on it? Is this her working on it? I wanted to say that, but since she’s getting along with my sister, I’ll let it slide.

And so, I’m now on a quest to uncover the mystery of the Foolish God (definitely a chuunibyou notebook).

TLNOTE: Cult that kidnap girs, Talented Older Sister and now Annoying Princess? This book really shamelessly ripping of Eminence in Shadow. Then again I’m also translating Classroom of Elite rip-off 🤣
