When they arrived at the camps, Raze received medical treatment from the knights.
“Put this on.”
Meanwhile, Addis, who had gone shopping, returned and practically shoved a paper bag at her.
Inside was a lovely one-piece dress with white lace layered over blue fabric. It seemed Addis had chosen it himself with great taste. Her previous outfit had been kicked and sprayed with monster blood, so he must have been considerate.
“Thank you for the clothes.”
“No problem. I didn’t intend to let you go back like that, and I thought it would suit you.”
Gratefully accepting it, she changed into the dress and went to the room where he was waiting, with Claude, Quartz, and the shopkeeper Tina also present.

“The magic stone was safely recovered. The culprit group were imperial poachers illegally mining magic stones. The military is taking them into custody. For the damages, I’ve made arrangements for the knights to guide you through the procedures. Please take care of that later.”
“Yes, thank you, Lord Zeseman.”
Quartz, who seemed to have spoken with him earlier, nodded.
“I still have work to do. If anything comes up, I’m leaving Milgur, so let him know. –Granoli, was it?”
Addressed, Raze replied, “Yes.”
“I’m returning to the ship.”
“Understood.”
After another look at her, Zeseman reached into his pocket and handed Addis some extra money.
“For the clothes. Use the rest as you like.”
Zeseman gave Addis more than enough.

When Raze returned to Beeham after seeing off Zeseman, Quartz was checking the charms in his bag.

“What happened?”
When Raze asked, Addis looked troubled.
“My charm. It doesn’t seem to be in this bag.”
“Eh?”
Knowing how serious that was, Raze’s face paled.
“I, I’ll go back to the ship and look for it.”
“How did that earring feel to use? From what I saw, you two seemed incredibly compatible,”
Quartz interjected, addressing Addis.
“Yes. Honestly, it did feel quite easy to control, but–“
“Then I’ll entrust it to you.”
“Eh–?”
“For the first time, I saw a magic stone respond to one’s will. I want you to use it.”
The room fell silent, Raze looking puzzled at their expressions.
“Did something happen?”
It was clear something had occurred after she left.
Quartz explained to Raze, who was unaware.
“After you went missing, we tried to undo the restraints, but they were tightly bound all the way to the joints, so it wasn’t easy. I said we should wait for help.”
“But Addis said we had to hurry before losing the trail, and struggled desperately, [saying he would absolutely go find you]. Then, the S-rank earring that was behind us suddenly lit up–“
Claude continued the story, glancing at Addis.

Addis put the earring back on his left ear. The vertically cut blue magic stone set in silver matched his eye and hair color – a charm that looked custom-made for him.
“Now, next time Miss Raze, be sure to take a magic stone you like too!”
“No, I’m fine!”
As he tried to give Raze a charm too, she vehemently shook her head no.
Raze had retrieved her own magic stone – a longtime partner who had helped her overcome many brushes with death.
“Um, could you fix this earring for me instead?”
Quartz nodded as he examined the earring Raze showed him.
“There’s nothing I can’t do when it comes to charms. This is a well-used, good stone.”
“If you could make it into a design that won’t come off…”
“Got it. That’ll be quick.”
“Show me your ear,” he said. Raze entrusted her left ear, which had been completely healed with simple healing magic to prevent the piercing from closing, to him.
“My specialty is interference magic. I can change the physical properties of objects.”
Saying this, he placed the earring against her ear, manipulating the hard clasp like clay until it was attached to Raze’s ear.
“Just fixing it wouldn’t satisfy my pride, so I made the back into a flower shape.”
Quartz stepped back with a proud smile.
Raze touched the stone on her left ear, now restored with the earring.

Addis was out of the question, being way out of her league. Claude, who came to mind immediately, might go along with such a farce if she said it was for Ruben’s sake.
However, her heart ached at the thought of making such a request to someone so conscientious. Since she didn’t know what would happen to her in the military, she couldn’t ask someone who didn’t know the circumstances.
