Mob №113 “That makes it worth entertaining them”
In the end, I was released by the General shortly after, but having consumed a little alcohol that I don’t usually drink, I decided to stay overnight in the spaceport that day.
Fortunately, nothing happened the next morning, and without using the gate we took on the way there, I took a roundabout route through several cheaper gates, spending several days before finally returning to Planet Ytts.
Since it’s my base planet, I didn’t dock at the spaceport but descended to the planet’s surface, docked my ship at the mercenary guild hangar, and without stopping by the guild reception, returned straight home and crashed.
After waking up, I finished cleaning and taking out the trash—my habit when returning from work—and thought about going to the spa facility [Relaxation Healthland] I went to before.
There I can have breakfast, and more importantly, I can heal from work fatigue.
Upon arriving at [Relaxation Healthland], I first took a bath before breakfast.
The ship’s shower and my home bath aren’t bad, but I realize again they can’t compete with this spacious bath.
Unlike before, I didn’t encounter Bernard-Oldman, and enjoyed the bath and breakfast alone peacefully.
After the bath and breakfast, I usually go to [Animember] and buy various things, but thinking I’d like to see a movie for once, I headed to [Cinema Doudome], a nearby cinema complex.
This cinema complex has two types: a full 3D experiential screen and a headgear-type dive system. The full 3D experiential screen has mechanisms in the theater itself, allowing you to enjoy a sense of presence while watching the work, and the headgear-type dive system makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing it firsthand.
And among the currently screening works that look interesting:
The panic comedy [Shark Girl]
The action epic [Revenging Ogre]
The manga live-action romantic comedy [Reverse Harem Queen’s Hardships]
These seemed good.
They all looked reasonably interesting, but for now I decided to watch [Revenging Ogre], which had the shortest time until screening.
The content was about a planet governed by horned races, when suddenly an armed group displaying a peach emblem, [Peach Emperor Army], arrives and raids the palace of the horned race, massacring soldiers and royalty, then stealing away all the young women and children across the planet, along with valuable resources and cultural assets valuable to the [Peach Emperor Army].
Of course the horned races fought back, but were helplessly massacred, and ultimately completely annihilated by the planet-scale anti-horned-race poison gas weapon [Bantou].
In that state, one royal youth of the horned race (about 17 years old) who coincidentally survived alone infiltrates the [Peach Emperor Army]’s base and seeks revenge against the wolf beastwoman and gorilla man, the bird-man bald eagle man, and the boss—a human man who calls himself the Peach Emperor.
It’s a pattern if you call it a pattern, but it had various gimmicks and was quite interesting.
The movie ended, and while wandering around thinking about what to do for lunch, a loud voice echoed from somewhere.
“Right now! The Empire is greatly weakened! Now is the time! All nations colonized must rise up and bring down the Empire! And take back our original lives, our nations!”
Apparently it was that group I saw near the station when heading home after playing with Gonzales and Cruz before.
Indeed, with the mass execution of nobles who rebelled against the Emperor, many people were freed from oppression.
Taking advantage of this, they’re apparently advocating for colonial liberation.
However, currently there are places that want independence but don’t have the economic power, or import food from other space regions, making it not so simple.
Furthermore, considering that war is inevitable for independence, and with the war against the rebel army having occurred, there are quite a few people who avoid independence.
And while they and their claims were somewhat overlooked before the war with the rebels—
“Police! Based on the nuisance prevention ordinance, we order you to disperse! If you don’t comply, you will be arrested!”
—in the tense state after the war’s end, that’s no longer the case, and they’re firmly subject to crackdown.
At times like this, it’s best to move quickly to avoid getting involved.

【Side: Schoona Noswile】
Planet Ragmos.
Also known as the [Rocky Sea of Trees], this planet—possessing one giant continent and a rich, beautiful ocean—is the venue for this Planet Race Grand Prix preliminary round.
Rock pillars ranging in thickness from a minimum of 30cm to a maximum of 50m, and in length from a minimum of 1cm to a maximum of 10,000m, stand seemingly infinitely throughout the continent’s surface layer, and apparently even scholars haven’t reached a conclusion about how this came to be.
Though rock pillars may break and fall due to natural phenomena, it’s a safe place with no dangerous native life forms.
However, due to the continuous rocky pillars, one’s sense of direction becomes distorted, and it becomes a natural labyrinth where you’d get lost even with a compass—or rather, even if you had a compass, you’d still get lost.
This course, flying between these rocky pillars, is simple but tests a pilot’s true ability—demanding flight course selection and split-second judgment.
In the waiting room just before the race, I was meditating to sharpen my nerves for the race.
Then came a knock at the door.

“Schoona. May I come in?”
“Please do.”
The person who entered was Gnir-Carrad, the owner of this planet racing team [Crystal Weed] and also the racing team’s leader.
His age is indeterminate, but he looks to be in his thirties.
“Does the race look like it’ll go well?”
“Yes. I’ve flown it several times before, so I’ve properly grasped both the course and the dangerous points.”
In this case, “dangerous” means places where I’m likely to be attacked.
I’ve been targeted there before.
“I see. With your ability, breaking through the preliminaries is certain, but don’t let your guard down.”
“Yes. I understand.”
“But you don’t need to aim for first place. As long as you break through the preliminaries, that’s fine. Conserve your strength. You have ‘business’ waiting.”
When he said that, my whole body tensed up.
“business?”
“Yeah. The other day, our Sales Division 2 crew tried to entertain customers returning from a bargain sale but failed. The part-timer who came to follow up also failed, so we’re short on earnings.”
“What kind of customer is next?”
“A delicate and difficult customer. We need to be careful how we handle them.”
“That sounds like worthwhile hospitality.”
If a third party heard this, it would sound like I’m doing pillow business or something, but the true meaning of our conversation goes like this:
“But you don’t need to aim for first place. As long as you break through the preliminaries, that’s fine. Conserve your strength. There’s a mission.”
“A raid mission?”
“Yeah. The other day, a separate unit raided a Starden Corporation transport caravan that had been doing price gouging, but they were annihilated. We requested reinforcements from our collaborators, the troops of Count Circluse’s household, but they were also defeated. So we’re short on funds.”
“Who are we raiding?”
“A noble who didn’t participate in the recent rebellion.”
“That sounds like worthwhile hospitality.”
[‘Business’] – This is the code word for when there’s a mission.
The planet racing team [Crystal Weed] that I belong to is actually a cover for a resistance organization fighting against the Empire.
At one point we were also operating as the Kaides Pirate Gang, but we became too famous, so we built a fortress by remodeling an asteroid to use as our base, leaked information about it, and had it destroyed.
The small manned combat craft at that time were operated by a remote system that also functioned as a simulator installed on the team’s transport ship [Seed 1].
In that battle, many people including myself and my friend Aero-Zeria-Tinks were shot down by the mercenary John-Uzoss.
I challenged him five times and was shot down all five times.
But strangely, I wasn’t frustrated.
During the [Teacher Mercenary Kidnapping Incident] when I was a high school freshman on the battlefield, I survived by imitating his movements.
“In any case, the race comes first. The bookmakers have you as the top favorite. Meet your fans’ expectations while letting the bookmakers make a little profit.”
The owner and leader gave me a thumbs up while exuding a refreshing yet overbearing atmosphere.
This means… he found out I got a mission and bet on someone else, didn’t he?
Even though staff are banned from using bookmakers…
Then I’ll conserve my power and take the top spot anyway.
I don’t think I’ll lose to stationary rocks or opponents who move worse than John-Uzoss.

she’s was a bad guy all aloing? :'(
I’m withholding harsher judgment because maybe the author will surprise me (I hope he does), but as of right now I’m really not a fan of this reveal. I really liked her as a simple cute tomboy race girl with a great figure.
This twist wasn’t in the web novel version (yet), but she’s also less relevant in the wn
