Strongest in the Supernatural School Volume 3 Epilogue part 2

“…You really lost, huh.”

Shiki Iroha muttered softly in the hospital room.

In front of her was a man who hadn’t regained consciousness since he collapsed.

The man she had thought was invincible had been defeated, and Shiki, feeling a little conflicted, stopped by this hospital room before heading to school.

“I used to think you were the strongest. …I thought I should just stick with the strong. But I was wrong.”

After the conflict, Class B had entered the end of Shinzaki’s era of dominance.

Everyone was grateful to Shinzaki.

For being on their side.

And for standing up to Amamori Yuuto to protect them.

All the students equally expressed their gratitude, felt indebted, and began to act.

They had broken free from the stagnation that had plagued them until now.

But that became their downfall.

“……Everyone was so fired up, saying they’d get stronger for you this time. Because you’re in trouble……Honestly, you’re really tying your own noose here.”

Shinzaki Yasuhito’s power was the [Blessing of Divine Emperor].

An ability that allowed him to borrow strength from those who followed him.

The “followers” referred to classmates who worshipped him and sought his protection. But it didn’t apply to students who worked hard on their own and aimed to stand on equal footing with him.

Because they weren’t “followers.”

They were just comrades.

In other words, Shinzaki Yasuhito had now lost more than half of his power.

“……Honestly, this is ridiculous.”

Shiki said this with a hint of happiness in her voice.

She had been saved by Amamori Yuuto.

She had fallen for him from the bottom of her heart.

But she was also part of Class 1-B.

A misfit in society.

So, she felt a small sense of gratitude toward Shinzaki for needing her.

Betraying him like this left her with mixed feelings.

That’s why she was happy.

“You’re already blessed enough even without me.”

Shinzaki Yasuhito was no longer alone.

He wasn’t lonely, nor was he a dictator.

The fact that the Divine Emperor’s Blessing no longer worked was proof of that.

“Well, I’ll be going now. Shinzaki, you’re awake, aren’t you? You should hurry up and come to school. Everyone’s waiting for you, except me.”

With that, she left the hospital room.

All that remained was the silent room.

—And Shinzaki Yasuhito, who had sat up.

“Ouch, ouch, ouch……Amamori, that bastard, really didn’t hold back……Seriously, how did he tame that wild girl? I’d like to ask him someday……”

He grimaced from the pain all over his body as he leaned back against the wall.

Outside the window, the blue sky stretched endlessly.

He clenched his right hand, but it lacked the strength it once had.

As Shiki had said, he had tied his own noose.

This was the result. He couldn’t even laugh.

“……I guess I’ve finally cut ties, huh?”

Always wear a smile.

The teaching that had been ingrained in his mind had disappeared without him realizing it.

The reflection in the window was nothing but gloomy.

He looked ridiculous, like a loser.

But strangely, seeing himself without a smile felt refreshing.

His father had told him to be stronger than anyone.

His mother had told him to always wear a smile.

Remembering those teachings, he closed his eyes.

“I lost spectacularly……and even my smile is gone.”

He had already broken the teachings he was supposed to uphold.

All that remained was a shattered sense of justice.

—Thump. His heart beat loudly.

In that moment, it felt like his body and soul had been reborn.

The tainted blood was being replaced with something new.

With each heartbeat, his muscles broke down, and from their edges, stronger, more resilient muscles emerged.

That sensation coursed through his entire body.

When he opened his eyes, the maddening sense of mission was gone.

The chains that had bound him had disappeared.

For the first time in his life, Shinzaki Yasuhito knew what it meant to be free.

“……What’s this?”

Suddenly, the smartphone on the table buzzed.

A new notification. Something he would usually ignore, but now it caught his attention.

As if guided, he picked it up and saw a new message.

—The addressee was unknown.

Even before opening it, the content appeared on the screen.

☆☆☆

It was the first step toward a new upheaval.

The awakening of a new power in a beast whose fangs had been broken.

As he read the words, Shinzaki Yasuhito’s eyes widened.

And then, he showed a genuinely delighted smile.

“……Whoever you are, are you giving me a chance for revenge?”

Shinzaki turned his gaze back to the window.

He was already forbidden from harming Class C.

In other words, a direct confrontation with Amamori Yuuto was no longer possible.

—At least not while the academy was functioning.

“……Well, well, it’s not like what I have to do has changed from the start.”

Then, he’d just have to destroy the academy.

If he did that, the school rules and constraints would become invalid.

He could fight Amamori Yuuto again.

Just thinking about it made his heart burn.

And strangely, he remembered Amamori Yuuto’s words.

[Why do you think I’m keeping you alive? Why do you think I haven’t thrown you away like useless trash? It’s because you might still be of use to me in the future.]

Remembering those words, he burst out laughing.

Ah, maybe Amamori had foreseen this.

Under the goal of destroying the academy, Amamori and Shinzaki could form an alliance.

Had he said those things after reading that far?

Thinking about it, Shinzaki couldn’t help but laugh.

“That’s good, Amamori. I’ll cooperate. I’ll lend you my strength to crush you.”

Besides, Class B had come to understand Amamori Yuuto.

They had learned of him as Yatagarasu.

The fact that he had given information to Class B……was nothing short of a threat.

“What was it again? Something about a [Constraint that you’ll die if you leak the information]……Seriously, how many abilities does that guy have?”

But on the flip side.

As long as they didn’t touch on that man’s true identity, they could raise a rebellion without any issues.

Shinzaki Yasuhito stood up.

He was done resting in bed.

He tore off the IV from his arm and smiled as he looked at the perfect blue sky.

It was a smile more refreshing than ever.

“Now, things are getting interesting!”

Shinzaki Yasuhito wasn’t going to end here.

Afterword

Suddenly, I’ll admit it—my Japanese language grades were a [1].

……Oh, by the way, my music grades were terrible too. I was so embarrassed to sing in front of others that I ended up showing off my horrendous tone-deafness in front of my classmates, and the classroom was filled with stifled laughter……Even now, thinking about it makes my chest ache.

Looking back, not pursuing a career in music was probably the wisest decision of my life. But it makes me wonder, [If my Japanese grades were trash, why did I become a novelist……?]

When I think about it, it all started with something small.

During high school, I got hooked on a certain novel.

And then, on a whim, I picked up a pen and started writing, using the theory that [if you just throw in some difficult words, it’ll look impressive]. Somehow, within about a year, I made my debut with a published book.

Looking back at my work from that time, I think, “Ah, this is definitely a Japanese grade of 1.” And I’m sure that when I look back at this current work in a year, I’ll think, “Yeah, this is a Japanese grade of 1 too.”

So my goal is to write something that I’ll still find interesting even years later……But with my low brainpower, it might take me a lifetime to achieve that.

However, while I’ve been worrying about this, somehow I’ve already reached Volume 3!

Even I’m surprised. As I tremble and sleep, I wonder if it’s really okay for something that spilled out of the brain of a Japanese-language failure like Aizawa Takeru to exist in this world in three volumes.

This is all thanks to everyone’s support. Honestly, if it weren’t for your support, Volume 1 probably wouldn’t have even been published. So really, thank you so much.

I’ll keep doing my best to write, so I hope you’ll continue to put up with my lack of talent!

Thank you for reading this volume!
