Found Out My Secret Volume 1 Chapter 4 part 1

Chapter 4: The Ones Who’ve Been Helping Us All Along

“Finally, it’s tomorrow.”

The cherry blossom trees lining the station avenue were blooming with pale pink flowers, as if blessing the students welcoming the new academic year. My university entrance ceremony was also tomorrow, and it felt like I was being blessed somehow.

The university I’d be attending was an ordinary one close to home. It’s called Kyoyo University—just three train stops away, and barely any walking from the university’s nearest station.

By the way, I did get accepted to the university I kept taking entrance exams for in my previous life. The deviation score is higher than Kyoyo University’s, but it’s just too far from home.

…That’s the cool-sounding excuse on the surface.

The truth is, because I was hospitalized, I didn’t notice the acceptance letter had arrived and couldn’t pay the enrollment fee.

Well, can’t be helped. Despite having the advantage of knowledge from my previous life, ending up like this means I really had no fate with that place. I got my revenge and performed my misogi purification from my past life.

I have no regrets anymore… or so I should.

Rather, I was surprised that Kyoyo University even sent my acceptance letter to the hospital where I was staying. If things had gone wrong, I might not have become a university student at all, so this was truly divine providence. Because of this, I came to love this university even before enrolling.

But still—

“I started cleaning to welcome the new year feeling refreshed, but this is way more exhausting than I thought…”

My room is in the suburbs near the city center. I live just barely in the prefecture, not the metropolis, so the rent isn’t as high as in the city center. Even so, it’s 50,000 yen for a 1K with a loft. With a bath and appliances included, I think it’s an incredibly good find. Normally, it would cost at least 80,000 yen. Maybe more.

I stuffed the luggage from the loft into plastic bags one after another and tied up magazines with plastic string in a cross pattern before placing them in front of my room.

Since I could only use my left hand, this task of tying things with string was way more exhausting than I’d thought. Also, I worried about losing my balance when climbing the loft stairs.

It would’ve been nice if my dominant hand had been uninjured…

For now, I’d finished organizing the trash.

However—

“I organized everything without thinking, but what do I do from here…”

It was true that my right hand was the most severely injured, but my whole body’s wounds hadn’t healed yet. My leg still wasn’t at full strength, so I had to walk while dragging it, but making round trips up and down the stairs to the garbage disposal area would be too exhausting.

“After doing all this, I can’t throw everything away? Well, can’t be helped. I’ll divide it into smaller portions and reduce it little by little…”

If possible, I wanted to finish everything today, but I’d give up since I was carrying a handicap. Besides, getting irritated about things I couldn’t do would only build up stress. I had to firmly accept the fact that I wasn’t in healthy condition.

I sank into the sofa, the only piece of furniture in my room.

I thought back to the celebration party I’d had the other day with the four heroines from 【LoD】. Recently, I’d only been thinking about dying every day, so it was fun.

Though there were endless worries…

“Buying smartphones, yakiniku… there are lots of things I don’t want to remember…”

The day I was discharged from the hospital, before the celebration party, I wanted a smartphone. Shuna happened to want one too, so we were going to go buy them together, but the other three simultaneously smashed their smartphones on the ground, destroying them. With smiles on their faces.

“I don’t want to touch a smartphone contaminated by trash. I was just thinking of replacing mine anyway, so I’ll switch to the same smartphone as Satoshi.”

…Or so they said (according to Kitagawa Reine).

After that, we all went to buy smartphones together, but they just happened to be running a “Couple’s Discount”… no, let’s stop remembering any more than this.

After that, we all happily got our new smartphones and entered a yakiniku restaurant, where they fought over the seat next to me.

If I chose someone, someone else would fall into darkness, which was seriously tough.

I accepted the “ahhhn” feeding, but I firmly stopped them from trying to do nyotaimori body sushi with the yakiniku. I mean, this isn’t no-pan shabu-shabu… By the way, the meat was very delicious.

I operated my smartphone with my unaccustomed left hand and opened LINE. Registered there were the names of the four heroines. Even combined with my previous life, this was my first time exchanging contact information with girls.

But we’d never exchanged messages…

No, I had some expectations too.

I was their lifesaver, and they were the ones who suggested exchanging contact information, so I thought they might contact me first… I was naive. Too naive. Nothing happened in the meantime.

People might say I should just contact them first, but I don’t know what to send. In other words, I’m stuck.

“Well, that makes sense… they’ve fulfilled their obligation to me, and they’re starting new lives.”

The contact exchange was probably just like a greeting for them. Thinking about it that way made me a bit sad.

“Can’t be helped to worry about it. As long as I can live happily, that’s enough.”

Originally, I was planning to die anyway, so I never intended to get involved with the heroines. Just having them nurse me until now was more than enough.

“Alright! Time to take out the trash!”

After all, welcoming the entrance ceremony in this state felt wrong. I steeled myself to make round trips on the stairs and picked up a trash bag with my left hand.

Ding dong

“Hm?”

It was right when I’d put my hand on the doorknob. Something I’d ordered online must have arrived.

Without even looking through the door scope, I opened the door.

“Yahho~ Satoshi-kun! It’s been a few days!”

“Eh, ah, eh?”

Standing beyond the opened door was Satsuki.

Eh? Seriously, why?

“Ah~! No good, Satoshi-kun. You’re a patient, so you need to rest absolutely!”

“Ah, sorry.”

With her hand on her hip, she cutely scolded me. I apologized without thinking, but that wasn’t the issue. Then Satsuki stretched her neck and peeked into my room.

“Wow~, so much trash. I just need to take all this out, right? Leave it to me!”

“Ah, wait!?”

Brushing aside my attempt to stop her, she entered my room without permission. Then she picked up trash bags with both hands and left the room.

“Ah, Satoshi-kun, you rest in your room! I’ll finish this right away!”

“Ah~, um…”

She’d acted immediately before I could say thank you. I could hear the pleasant sound of Satsuki descending the stairs—kan kan kan.

Since she was offering to do it, I might as well make some coffee and wait.

Once all those trash bags were gone, the room suddenly felt much more spacious.

“Sorry. You really helped me out.”

“Don’t worry about it! You can work me like a slave, you know?”

“No, that’s a bit…”

I absolutely didn’t want to do that—it would feel like taking advantage of a weakness.

“More importantly, why are you here?”

As the homeowner, I sat on the sofa, while I had Satsuki sit on a cushion on the other side of the table. That’s what you’d expect in a one-room apartment. When sleeping, I’d climb up to the loft.

More than that, there was Satsuki. I hadn’t told her my home address. I was about to question her about how she knew it, but she was staring intently at her cup. Then she began sipping her coffee little by little.

“Mm… mm…”

Her glossy lips traced the rim of the cup, and sensual sighs escaped each time the liquid slid down her throat.

To put it simply, it was super erotic.

Since I hadn’t anticipated any visitors, I’d served her using the cup I normally used, which made me feel it even more.

“Fuu~, delicious…”

Her cheeks flushed, and she wore a very aesthetic expression.

“It’s just instant, but I’m glad it suits your taste.”

“Really? Maybe it’s because Satoshi-kun made it for me, but it was the most delicious coffee I’ve ever had.”

“That’s an exaggeration.”

Better than being told it tastes bad. More importantly—

“I don’t think I told you my home address, so how do you know it?”

“—Doesn’t that not matter at all?”

There was a brief pause, but Satsuki looked at me with her usual smile. However, I sensed a slight shadow in it.

“No, it does mat—” “More than that, I also had something I wanted to ask Satoshi-kun.”

As if to interrupt my words, Satsuki said clearly to me.

Shiver

“What have you been doing from the day after the celebration party until now?”
