Chapter 5: Thank You──

I don’t know their appearance or voice, but I think I gave them a fitting name.
However, there was just one problem. All of the Four Beauties were on bad terms with each other. It was a manifestation of their desire to monopolize me, but it was nothing but troublesome.
I brushed off all their consultations and heavy conversations, leaving everything to Santa Claus afterward.

So I proposed that we become friends with benefits so they could learn about each other’s good points. But then she turned her back on me in the middle of the conversation.
I never expected to be rejected, so I was stunned for a moment, but I immediately thought I’d chase after her.
However, a student from our high school got hit by a car in front of Satsuki, and that took precedence over everything else.
“If you’re going to get in an accident, at least don’t cause me trouble……”
They did something unnecessary, but it’s confirmed that I’m going to the same university as all of the Four Beauties. It’s only a matter of time before I make all four of them fall for me.
However, there was something bothering me.
“Reine, don’t contact me about meaningless things either……seriously.”
I thought she’d accepted my proposal and got excited, but it turned out to be nothing but pointless confirmations.
Normally I would nod along and go with the flow of the conversation, but I wanted to quickly end the conversation and get back to my game, so I told her the facts as they were.

While I was thinking about that, the entrance ceremony finally arrived. Since that day, I haven’t received any contact from the four of them at all, so I tried contacting them myself, but my messages weren’t even read.

There was a stage in the center, and it was set up like an auditorium. Coming to a place like this really made me feel like I’d become a university student.
Once inside, I was instructed to fill in seats from the front, so I took my seat. Looking around, I saw new students who looked like their suits were wearing them, chatting with their fellow students in the adjacent seats.
I should make friends within my department while I can. I didn’t really have any friends worth calling friends in high school.
Because I was surrounded by the Four Beauties, I drew jealousy from people of the same sex. That backfired, and I have no friends. There’s nothing uglier than the jealousy of unpopular people, so if anything, it was good that such people were filtered out.
