Mob No.141: “Just make sure no one else gets hurt… I’m begging you…”
Twelve hours after the planet Itotakia was reduced to cosmic dust.
The long-distance war between the Empire and the Star Kingdom had reached a complete stalemate.
Despite the overwhelming firepower displayed by the Star Kingdom’s superweapon, for some reason, it showed no signs of moving further.
The prevailing theory was that it required time to recharge its energy—but the possibility of it being a trap also left the Empire hesitant to act recklessly.
Amid this tension, Kaiese Dowin, the Star Kingdom’s Prime Minister and Marquis, delivered a speech to its citizens.
The live broadcast displayed an ornate podium where a dark-haired man in lavish regalia stood, the colossal weapon looming behind him.
[I am certain that all of you gathered here today are comrades who carry the pride of true nobility!
And furthermore, we also welcome those among the decaying Empire who still retain the dignity of true aristocracy as our allies!
Our Nekirelma Star Kingdom has endured repeated invasions from the Empire, losing territory time and again.
For a hundred years, we have suffered the humiliation of stolen lands left unreclaimed—
solely because the Empire was too strong!
But now! The Empire has grown weak!
They persecute the true nobles of their own realm while foolishly favoring the common masses—mere resources!
I shall destroy this decadent Empire and restore the Nekirelma Star Kingdom as a mighty interstellar power!
To that end, His Late Majesty the King has entrusted me, Kaiese Dowin, with the throne!
Yet I know many among you still harbor doubts.
But fear not! For I wield divine power!
All of you have witnessed it—the godly light that shattered a planet!
The fools of the Empire have no choice but to prostrate themselves before this radiance!
The vessel that unleashes this divine light is the ultra-massive battleship [Gungnir]—named after the spear of Odin, the god of war! It is the spear of victory for our Star Kingdom!
With this spear in hand, we are the victors! We shall dominate this galaxy! We are its rightful rulers!
Follow me! And I promise you eternal triumph!]
As the speech ended, thunderous applause erupted. Kaiese Dowin raised a hand, satisfaction etched across his face.
Naturally, the Empire had also watched this broadcast.
Our carrier, still mourning the loss of Karalema and her crew, continued its advance toward the blockade of Nekirelma’s homeworld.
The speech happened to air during dinner, so my acquaintances were all gathered to watch.
“So all the provocations, all the war-mongering—it’s because they got their hands on that planet-cracking toy?”
Molise snorted into her non-alcoholic beer.
“The ‘Spear of God,’ huh? If that’s true, it’s not something humans should be messing with.”
“Honestly… that speech reeked of chuunibyou teenage delusions of grandeur.”
Bernard (also sipping non-alcoholic beer) and Seira’s exchange made Levin and Lambert awkwardly avert their eyes.
“Is it really safe to leave politics in the hands of someone like that?”
“Rumor has it he’s the one who infected the Nekirelma King with his ‘illness.’”
“Wait—so you’re saying it was a viral assassination?!”
Rosweisse looked puzzled, while Dan and Shiora traded stories about Kaiese Dowin’s infamy.
“Think many mercenaries defected to their side?”
“Not many, but mercs can’t really be blamed for picking either side.”
Arthur and Miss Alptet voiced concerns about defectors.
Of course, everyone was aware of the ancient weapon [Gungnir]’s threat—they just preferred not to dwell on it.
Except for two people.
Either way, my job was to slip back to my ship before anyone asked for my opinion.

I raised a hand in acknowledgment of the nobles’ cheers and stepped down from the podium.
“A magnificent speech, Your Majesty.”
“Think nothing of it.”
Pleased by my secretary’s genuine praise, I strode to the office once used by the late King—now mine.
As I sipped chilled sparkling wine, the scheduled report from [Gungnir] came in.
“Speak.”
[Status update: Energy recharge at 25%. Next firing cycle will require 48 hours.]
“The cooldown is frustrating, but it keeps the Empire guessing. Let them stew. Maintain the weapon—no errors allowed.”
[Understood. Also, Your Majesty—your speech was truly inspiring.]
“My thanks.”
The firing delay was inconvenient, but even divine retribution shouldn’t be wasted.
Used wisely, this power would crush the Empire and crown me ruler of the galaxy!
The late King never suspected my agents’ “gift” of pathogens—and by the time he realized, it was too late.
I refilled my glass and toasted to my future reign.

Thirty minutes after the speech of the new king of the Nekirelma Star Kingdom
I was aboard Rosweisse’s ship, rewatching the footage of [Gungnir] annihilating Itotakia.
Frankly, it was horrifying—yet somehow, I didn’t feel as threatened as I should have.
“Hey, Rosweisse.”
“What?”
Her humanoid avatar multitasked, running diagnostics on her mainframe.
“Think you can do something about that [Gungnir] thing?”
Assuming it was another ancient weapon like her, I posed the question—
“Easy.”
“Seriously?”
“It’s a planetary bombardment ship. To function fully, it needs an energy-charging field. Right now, they’re probably running it from a maintenance bridge. So yeah, I can hijack their entire fleet.”
Her casual reply stunned me.
Ancient electronic warfare units operated on another level.
“Then crash it into a star. That’d wipe it out for good.”
“But the others wouldn’t accept that. Let’s leave the destruction to Sister Gerhilde.”
“Sister? The one with the red beams?”
Rosweisse’s sister-ship, Gerhilde—unlike her electronic warfare specialty—was an interceptor with twice the combat power, specializing in orbital defense.
Her avatar had long black hair and a cool, collected demeanor.
“Yep. Though honestly, I could handle it too.”
Rosweisse struck a prideful pose.
“Then when that thing shows up, we’ll deal with it. Sound good?”
“I’ll notify Sister Gerhilde.”
After a brief transmission—
“…Uh, she’s way too excited about this…”
“Just… make sure no one else gets hurt.”
Rosweisse sweatdropped at Gerhilde’s bloodlust.
