Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 106

Mob No. 106: […… Okay. …. Good luck!!!]

The Blue Wasp comes straight at me.

He’s clearly holding a grudge.

I try a warning beam shot but he avoids it easily as expected.

After that it turned into a tail chase.

Using every trick – tight turns, flips, spirals, moving up and down, speed changes – to try and get behind each other but we’re evenly matched.

While I’m barely evading his attacks at my limit, he’s casually dodging mine with ease.

At this rate I’ll definitely be shot down.

The protagonist really is different, huh?

I glance around and … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 105

Mob No. 105: [Notify all personnel! Enemy reinforcements are very skilled, so be careful!]

The guys that showed up on Miss Roseweiss’ radar refused to confirm their ship registry codes, so they were definitely pirates.

It was a medium sized group, with way more ships than we had.

What’s more, when I checked them out through my telescope, they proudly flew pirate flags on their ships, meaning they were legitimate pirates, not fallen nobles turned pirate to avoid punishment from their families.

Fallen nobles will often not paint flags so they can claim it’s “tribute” not piracy.

Expecting all the … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 104

Mob #104: [Then I’ll look into that information again. As long as it’s in Roha it’s fine.]

In the shifts created by the Rear Admiral, I was assigned to the first shift.

Lambert, Miss Roseweiss, and Dan were in the same shift.

So in Galactic Standard Time, we take the day shift while Arthur, Seira, and Moritz take the night shift.

Arthur and the others are probably lying down now even if they aren’t sleepy yet.

Since we had just started, the job was extremely peaceful.

It was so peaceful that I wanted to contact Gonzales to confirm what we … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 103

Mob #103: “What shamelessly poor choice of cargo…”

After the salvage colony security job ended without incident and I arrived home safely and uneventfully on planet Iytz, I immediately dove into bed.

I spent the next two days relaxing, then on the third day I prepared for departure, and the next morning I headed to the mercenary guild to take on work.

Luckily I didn’t run into Miss Dilopers and made it to Old Man Uncle Roans’s place.

“Seems there weren’t any pirate attacks this time. You got to relax, right?”

“Well, about 70%.”

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 102

Mob No.102: “I do not need you, the weaker one, to protect me. If you keep bothering me, I will not show mercy next time.”

Side character: Shiora-Dilopers

I was excellent.

In training at school, I never lost to my seniors, classmates, or even teachers.

The teachers would say I still had more to learn compared to veteran mercenaries and military aces, as if to console themselves over losing. But I thought I could beat them.

When I joined the rebel army as my father’s proxy, I never imagined I would be shot down.

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 101

Mob No.101: “Yeah, yeah, you win. I have no intention of going near her again anyway. Okay, end of discussion.”

“Um, do you mind if I ask something?”

After checking no one else was around, I stopped and spoke to her.

“What is it?”

She stopped as well.

“How’d you find me?”

That’s the biggest mystery.

I shot down quite a few manned and unmanned fighters, and others did similar numbers.

Plus in battle you have to watch all directions, hard to check each opponent.

To my question, she answered standing at attention.

“I knew my unit faced the 11th … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 100

Mob No.100: “Besides, I don’t recall ever permitting you to call me by my name so familiarly.”

It had been 5 days since she, Shiora Dilopers, greeted me, but…

Nothing particularly changed.

With the same shifts, same breaks, I fully expected her to try various underhanded methods of harassment, but there was none of that – just the occasional nod when passing each other at the cafeteria or in the hall.

Frankly, the pressure or something I felt when she first greeted feels so anticlimactic now.

Which makes whatever means she’s using that I’m … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 99

Mob No.99: “I just recently became a mercenary. So pleased to meet you and I look forward to working with you.”

The day after going to Gonzalez’s place, after dropping off my ship for maintenance at oyaji’s, I decided to take care of various things around the house.

First is cleaning I absolutely have to do, but since I’m away often, I should get cleaning robots, but to feel a sense of normal daily life when I get home, I deliberately don’t have any.

So trash piles up while I’m away for work, take it out on … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 98

Mob No.98: “Thank you very much, great-uncle.”

After getting the info fee and bounty from the guild, I immediately went to Parlbear Branch of Racierque Bank, who helped with dad’s debt, and sent them 1/3 of the 410,000 credits, 137,000, for living expenses.

Then I headed to the fortune teller’s place in the shopping district, to report her hunch was right and give thanks.

Luckily no loitering female customers, so I could enter her shop without awkwardness.

“Oh, you returned alive it seems.”

“Somehow yeah. Really grateful for that old lady intuition.”

I’m sincerely … Read the rest

Geek Mob Mercenary Chapter 97

Mob No.97: “I was just doing my duty as a soldier, so no need for thanks. Now excuse me, I have a report to make.”

Luckily Miss Fadilna Prilliella’s ship was largely intact without severe damage.

That the escape system didn’t activate means she’s likely unconscious.

I turned to the beam’s origin, and 6 of the latest Veritasque fighters from Tiwelsad Corp approached, the leader hailing me unbelievablely.

[Hey, you alright?! Good thing I made it in time!]

For a moment I didn’t comprehend what the leader-like man’s hail meant.

“No, she was in … Read the rest
