Romelia Senki Volume 2 Chapter 6 part 6

“Move aside! If you’re fleeing, head to the rear gate! Go to the rear gate!”

I directed, pushing through the crowd towards the audience chamber.

“Romelia!”

Among the screams and shouts, I heard a familiar voice. It was my father, with his small eyes despite his tall frame, caught in the fleeing crowd.

He tried to stop but was swept along by the crowd.

I instinctively reached out, but he didn’t reach for me. Instead, he pointed upwards.

“Romelia! Save King Henry and Queen Elisabeth!”

he shouted before disappearing into the crowd.

Those few words were enough.

“Let’s go!”

I urged, moving forward.

But just as we neared the audience chamber, we clashed with about 200 soldiers. I hoped they were allies, but they bore the Blue Wolf and Red Moon emblems, drawing their swords on us.

The kingdom’s elite knights turned against us, confusing the Cashew Garrison.

But the two royal guards leading us stood firm.

“Do you act knowing we are the royal guards?” one challenged.

“Are the Blue Wolf and Red Moon Knights siding with the rebel General Zaria?” the other demanded.

They brandished their swords, ready for no excuses. The Blue Wolf and Red Moon Knights attacked the royal guards without a word.

“Traitors! Even as kingdom knights!” the royal guards shouted.

“Lady Romelia! At least you, get to King Henry!”

As they clashed with the enemy, they urged us to go ahead.

“Understood. The rest, stay here. Glen, Hans, Say, and Tas! Lead 200 men.”

I left 200 soldiers with four leaders and headed to King Henry with just Al and Ray.

We finally saw the doors to the audience chamber, but as we approached, the castle shook violently. I steadied myself and dashed through the open doors.

The audience chamber was in chaos. Many lay on the floor, including Cardinal Pharmaid . The floor had collapsed, creating a hole, and flames were rising high.

Beyond the flames, I saw the throne with Elisabeth, her white dress stained red with blood, and King Henry with multiple arrows in his back. Soldiers in front of the flames had their bows aimed at King Henry.

“Al! Ray!”

I shouted, but they were already rushing forward.

The red and blue knights raced like the wind, their swords flashing as they cut down the soldiers who had drawn their bows.

“Hmm, you there! Who are you?”

General Zaria, with a long sword in hand, demanded in a high and mighty tone.

“You can tell just by looking! We are the allies of justice! You rebels!”

Al roared. At being called rebels, General Zaria flinched.

“That red armor and hair… You must be Albion! And the one in blue must be Raven. Don’t you understand our cause?”

“Who cares about the cause of rebels!”

“We follow the orders of Lady Romelia!”

Even in front of the kingdom’s greatest general, Al and Ray did not take a step back.

“I heard you had some promise, but in the end, you’re just boys chasing after women!”

General Zaria pointed his long sword at Al, and five assassins surrounded Ray.

“Elizabeth! King Henry! We’re coming to help!”

Ignoring General Zaria, I first checked on Elizabeth and the others. But the two leaning against the throne were injured and covered in blood.

Seeing the two soaked in blood filled my heart with rage.

“Al! Ray! Strike them down!”

““Understood!””

At my furious command, Al and Ray nodded.

“You think you can strike me down? You’re just kids who’ve been running around the battlefield for a few years. I’ve been here since before you were born! Show them the power of the Black Hawk Knights!”

Laughing, General Zaria swung his long sword at Al, and the assassins rushed at Ray with their short swords.

General Zaria was even larger than Al, and his downward slash with the long sword seemed powerful enough to split rocks. Meanwhile, the assassins fighting Ray were elite soldiers from the renowned Black Hawk Knights, moving with remarkable agility and wielding their short swords skillfully.

Al caught General Zaria’s descending long sword with his own sword held horizontally. Ray clashed fiercely with the five assassins, sparks flying from their blades.

“Kneel before the general!”

General Zaria pressed down with his long sword. Al’s body slowly lowered, his knee almost touching the ground. But Al did not yield further; instead, he began to push back.

“Ugh, this useless struggle…”

Despite putting all his strength into it, General Zaria couldn’t stop Al, who gradually started pushing him back.

“You’ve got some strength, I’ll give you that. But you’re nothing compared to Gallios.”

Recalling his recent fight with the strongest enemy he had ever faced, Al pressed his sword forward. This time, it was General Zaria who began to lower.

“Ugh, you! Who do you think I am!”

General Zaria gritted his teeth, foaming at the mouth and turning red-faced as he strained, but he couldn’t push Al back and ended up kneeling.

“You lot! Help me!”

Unable to bear it any longer, General Zaria called for help.

But the assassins couldn’t come to his aid.

Ray’s sword moved too fast to see, and he fought fiercely against the five assassins, not giving an inch. As Ray accelerated his sword’s speed, one of the assassins lost a finger, screaming as blood sprayed.

Once one assassin fell, the others followed quickly. Ray’s sword mercilessly cut off their fingers and arms.

The assassins dropped their short swords, clutching their wounded limbs. Ray didn’t take their lives but wiped the blood from his sword.

“No, impossible… my men!”

Seeing his assassins defeated, General Zaria’s expression changed, but he had no time to be distracted. Al’s sword pressed down on him even more.

General Zaria shouldered his long sword, desperately trying to defend himself, but Al’s sword cut into the long sword, threatening to slice through it.

“Wait, you! Do you know who I am!”

“I don’t care who you are!”

Al spat, putting all his strength into his sword. His hair stood on end, his red hair flaring like flames. Al’s sword cleaved through General Zaria’s face, slicing the long sword in the process.

“G-General!”

The assassins, now missing fingers and arms from Ray’s attacks, cried out at General Zaria’s demise.

“Stop it! General Zaria is dead, and the rebellion has failed. There’s no point in knights of the kingdom fighting each other anymore. Surrender!”

I urged the surviving assassins to surrender. They exchanged glances with each other.

Though they had lost the means to fight, their faces were not those of the defeated.

“Al, Ray! Fall back!”

At my command, Al and Ray jumped back. Almost simultaneously, the five assassins pulled strings from their pouches. In the next instant, their bodies emitted a flash, followed by a massive explosion.

The shock from the explosion caused the floor of the audience chamber to collapse further, and even the ceiling began to crumble.

“Elizabeth! Henry!”

In the collapsing castle, I could only shout their names.

Arrows were flying, and King Henry shielded Elizabeth with his body.

Elizabeth could do nothing but watch. She tried to create a protective wall with her magic, but perhaps due to losing too much blood, she couldn’t.

Arrows struck King Henry’s back, and blood spilled from his mouth.

“Your Majesty! No, you must flee! You can still be saved if you go alone.”

Elizabeth cried out, but King Henry didn’t flee.

At that moment, when the final arrow was about to be loosed, Romelia entered the audience chamber with Albion and Raven.

Romelia’s knights rushed in like the wind, taking down the assassins with bows.

“Your Majesty, reinforcements have arrived. We’re saved. Please stay strong.”

Elizabeth reassured King Henry, but he collapsed into her lap, arrows still in his back.

“Oh no, stay with me. These wounds can be healed quickly.”

Elizabeth began using her healing magic on King Henry’s arrow wounds. But the light in her hands was faint, and the bleeding didn’t stop.

“Don’t worry, Your Majesty. You will not die. You will definitely recover.”

Elizabeth was certain that King Henry wouldn’t die. She had the power to save him from the brink of death.

It was six years ago when she first met Prince Henry on his quest to defeat the demon king. That night, Elizabeth prayed for him in the church.

It was then that she received the miraculous power from the heavens.

The power was called [Grace]. It could heal the wounds of those Elizabeth loved, even saving lives from the brink of death.

This power had been fully demonstrated during the journey to defeat the demon king, saving Prince Henry many times.

Even the demon king Zelgius’s deadly blow couldn’t kill Prince Henry. Compared to that, these arrow wounds were nothing.

But no matter how much she used her healing magic, the arrow wounds wouldn’t close.

“Why? Why won’t they heal?”
