Her Majesty’s Command Volume 2 Prologue

Prologue

When I arrived at school for the first time in a while, the atmosphere in the class was absolutely giddy.

Everyone was laughing together like they were the best of friends, creating an atmosphere that screamed Youth!

An atmosphere that screamed Youth! meant, in other words, a refreshing vibe that could be used in a soft drink commercial.

“What’s going on here~?”

As I tilted my head in confusion, a girl nearby spoke up.

“It’s the Cultural Festival.”

“The Cultural Festival~!?”

“Yeah. While you weren’t really coming to school, Madarame-kun, the preparation period started.”

“So that’s why it feels like [Bonds!] in here, huh.”

“We made class T-shirts, too.”

Indeed, there were guys wearing some rather flashy T-shirts.

“You guys are really enjoying this, aren’t you?”

“That’s not all.”

For some reason, the girl put on a shy expression and lowered her voice.

“It’s already started…”

“What has?”

“…The Cultural Festival Magic.”

“Eh, whaaaaat~!?”

That means… it’s that.

“You mean that thing where you go shopping together for class supplies, or stay late after school, and end up falling in love~!?”

“Shhh! Pointing it out like that is so unrefined!”

Looking around the classroom in surprise, sure enough, boys and girls who had never interacted before were happily chatting away.

“Ah, sorry, excuse me.”

The girl who was talking to me left my side and trotted over to a male classmate who had just entered the room.

“Morning. About yesterday… keep it a secret from everyone, okay…?”

Saying that while blushing, the boy also looked down, seeming embarrassed.

“A Youth Space has been established…”

In this classroom with an atmosphere of Bursting Youth!, I sat alone.

Even after morning homeroom started, the teacher’s words didn’t reach my ears.

Why? Because everywhere I looked, boys and girls were secretively having fun. The boy in the seat behind was poking the back of the girl in front of him, and she puffed out her cheeks playfully. A boy and a girl seated far apart met eyes and laughed shyly at each other.

“Everyone is living their best teenage years…”

I want to do that too. Like a soft drink commercial, I want to burst with energy and have a refreshing romance.

So, I thought about it. How should I go about doing that? It’s true that there are girls around me.

First, there’s Her Majesty. Sure, she has a beautiful face, and the other day she even gave me a reward kiss. But my relationship with Her Majesty is… being lovers feels different, and in the first place, she isn’t human.

Captain Shirakawa is beautiful, and she is human. Her personality is quite cute, too. But she’s already a working adult, and she’s a tomboyish girl who tries to solve problems with brute strength, so that’s also a bit different.

The most standard option is Hana-chan. Hana-chan is human, a high schooler, and fits the criteria perfectly. But Hana-chan is a bit heavy—or rather, though she would definitely deny it, she has some ‘landmine’ (crazy) vibes, so she isn’t suited for a Youth Road Movie.

I want to ride two-on-a-bike, feeling the wind as we coast down the embankment.

Naturally, the silent maid, Friday, is a gothic girl, so her worldview is too different. Besides, she doesn’t even go to school.

“The girls around me… their visuals are strong, but they’re all a bunch of weirdos…”

And so, I thought.

Then, to achieve Aoharu (springtime of youth), what kind of girl would be good?

A girl who isn’t Her Majesty, isn’t Captain Shirakawa, and isn’t in Hana-chan‘s category.

Countless scenes from youth movies I’ve watched raced through my mind. And finally, I arrived at the answer. What I need right now is──.

“A girl with long black hair! White skin! A pure, refreshing, ordinary girl!”

Without thinking, I stood up and shouted.

But no one paid any attention to me.

“Alright then, I’d like the transfer student to come in.”

The elderly homeroom teacher spoke. Apparently, a transfer student was arriving, and he had been explaining that. Everyone was focused on that.

“This is Suzuhara Chinatsu-san.”

The door opened, and a girl walked in. She was a slightly tall girl with long black hair and white skin.

“I’m Suzuhara. At my previous school, I was in the track and field club. Nice to meet you.”

The girl’s greeting was incredibly refreshing.

“Since Suzuhara-san isn’t used to the school yet, someone please guide──”

Interrupting the homeroom teacher, I raised my hand shouting, “Hai hai hai hai hai~!!”

“I’ll do it! Madarame Shinichi, I can do Aoharu!”
